Medical Director, & Founder of McCallum Place

Dr. McCallum is a psychiatrist, board certified in both child, adolescent, and in adult psychiatry. She is a fellow of the American Psychiatric Association (FAPA) and a Certified Eating Disorders Specialist (CEDS) and remains an Associate Professor of Clinical Psychiatry at Washington University. She received her Bachelor of Science from Brown University, her medical degree from Yale University, completed her adult training at UCLA Neuropsychiatric Institute, and her Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship at Washington University School of Medicine.

Dr. McCallum is passionate about education, family support, research and advocacy. She serves on the board of directors of the National Eating Disorder Association (NEDA), the advisory board of the International Association of Eating Disorders Professionals (IAEDP) and the Global Foundation of Eating Disorders (GFED). She has been an active member of the Academy of Eating Disorders (AED). Dr. McCallum is the co-founder of The Missouri Eating Disorders Association (MOEDA), a non-profit organization for family support and advocacy and a NEDA affiliate in St Louis.

 Dr. McCallum has developed several eating disorder treatment programs, including inpatient, partial hospital and intensive outpatient programs.

She has been a guest on the Dr. Oz Show and has provided numerous lectures across the country on a variety of topics achieving national recognition for her skills and knowledge in treating eating disorders. She has consistently been named a Top Doctor in the field of psychiatry and in the specialty of eating disorders treatment. Dr. McCallum is the Founder of McCallum Eating Disorder Centers including treatment centers in Missouri, Kansas and Texas. McCallum Place St. Louis provides 24 hour residential, our signature ten hour/seven day a week partial hospital program, and six hour partial-hospital and intensive outpatient programs. McCallum Place Columbia offers ten and six hour partial-hospital and intensive outpatient programs. McCallum Place Kansas City offers ten and six hour partial-hospital programs.

The Victory Program at McCallum Place St. Louis is designed to meet the needs of elite athletes struggling with eating disorders and Webster Wellness Professionals in St Louis, an outpatient center for eating and body image treatment.
