Angela received their Bachelor of Science in Psychology at Kaohsiung Medical University in Taiwan and Master of Arts in Art Therapy Counseling at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. They were an intern at McCallum Place during the 2022 school year while conducting research on the relationship between eating disorders, attachment styles, and the uses of art materials. They had additional practicum experience in children’s psychiatric hospital, working with adolescents with severe mental illnesses in inpatient and residential programs.
As an art therapist, Angela values creative processes, metaphors, self-awareness, and insights. They believe that self-expression comes in multiple forms and understanding oneself helps us make intentional decisions for life. They strive to provide culturally informed and trauma-informed care while incorporating cognitive behavioral therapy and dialectical behavioral therapy techniques in sessions.
