professionals. Our small staff-to-patient ratio means patients receive caring,
individual attention from people they grow to know and trust. Because a number
of our staff is recovered, they are able to provide a unique level of

Kimberli McCallum, M.D.
Medical Director
Kimberli McCallum, M.D., is a board-certified psychiatrist in child, and
adolescent as well as in adult psychiatry. She received her medical degree from
Yale School of Medicine and completed her training in general psychiatry at the
UCLA Neuropsychiatry Institute. She has developed several eating disorder
treatment programs, including inpatient, partial hospitalization, and intensive
outpatient programs.
Dr. McCallum is a member of the Academy of Eating Disorders and an associate
professor of psychiatry at Washington University’s School of Medicine. She
serves as a board member of the National Eating Disorders Association and of the
International Association of Eating Disorders Professionals. Currently she is a
candidate at the St. Louis Psychoanalytic Institution. Dr. McCallum has lectured
across the country on a variety of topics, achieving national recognition for
her skills and knowledge in treating eating disorders and in the medical
management of complicated cases.

Lynn Stark, A.P.R.N.,
M.S.N.
Clinical Nurse Specialist - Program Director
Lynn received her Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from Ball State
University and her master’s degree in child and adolescent psychiatric nursing
from Indiana University. She has 20 years of experience providing group and
individual therapy to adults and adolescents with eating disorders and other
psychiatric illnesses. In addition to coordinating the opening and development
of several eating disorder centers, Lynn has lectured to area physicians,
schools, and community groups on the topic of eating disorders. As an advanced
practice nurse, she has a thorough understanding of the medical complications
associated with eating disorders. At McCallum Place, Lynn works with individuals
and family members to help them understand the recovery process and physical
changes associated with refeeding.

Direct Care

The direct care staff includes counselors and registered nurses who are
responsible for patient care throughout the day and evening. Our direct care
staff members have experience and education regarding treatment of eating
disorders and receive ongoing training. They are with patients during meals,
accompany them to groups and activities and are available to help solve problems
24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Dietitians
McCallum Place is proud to have highly specialized registered/licensed
dietitians on staff. Our dietitians bring over 25 combined years of clinical
experience to our treatment program. We appreciate the diverse backgrounds of
our clinical nutritional staff in areas such as sports nutrition, clinical
nutrition, psychology, childhood refeeding disorders, allied health, personal
training, complementary nutrition and outpatient nutrition counseling.

Shannon Shelley, L.C.S.W.
Program Manager
Shannon Shelley is a licensed clinical social worker. Shannon attended
Southern Illinois University in Carbondale and received her Master of Social
Work. The majority of her work has been in crisis intervention and community
education. Shannon provides numerous presentations throughout the community on
topics such as mental illness and suicide intervention. In addition to having a
strong clinical background, Shannon has an extensive work history in sales,
training, marketing, and public relations.

Karen Geren, M.S.W.
IOP/Transitional Living Coordinator
Karen Geren, M.S.W., received her Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology from
Purdue University and her Master of Social Work degree in mental health and
management from Washington University. She has six years of experience treating
adults and adolescents with serious and persistent mental illness as well as
experience treating specialized eating disorders. Geren has been a part of
multiple research projects involving psychopharmacology, gender differences, and
cognitive distortions.

Cristen Luehmann, M.S.,
R.D., L.D.
Clinical Nutrition Coordinator
Cristen Luehmann, M.S., R.D., L.D., received her Bachelor of Science degree
in nutrition and dietetics from the University of Missouri, Columbia, and
graduated in May of 2006 with a Master of Arts degree in the same field. She is
a registered dietitian with the American Dietetic Association and is licensed in
the state of Missouri. She is also an active member in the St. Louis Eating
Disorder Network.
Since 1995, Cristen has specialized in treating patients with disordered
eating and has helped to start three eating disorder treatment programs in the
St. Louis area. She has extensive clinical experience working as part of a
multi-disciplinary treatment team and in treating patients at various treatment
levels, including inpatient, long-term residential, and outpatient care. Cristen
believes in a holistic approach to health and uses this model to help people in
recovery connect to their natural, internal cues in order to establish eating
patterns that promote health and balance.
Cristen has presented on a variety of topics and enjoys sharing her knowledge
and experience with others. In addition to her work at McCallum Place, Cristen
has been in private practice since 1998, providing outpatient nutrition
counseling to individuals and families recovering from eating disorders.

Meredith Roberts, M.S.,
LMFT
Therapist
Meredith Roberts, M.S., LMFT received her Bachelor of Science degree in Child
Development in 1997 and Master of Science degree in Family & Human Development
(emphasis in Marital and Family Therapy) in 2003 from Arizona State University.
She has experience in treating a broad range of mental health issues, with
extensive training & experience in treating eating disorders and substance abuse
in outpatient, in-home, and residential settings. Meredith has also worked
with couples and families, providing guidance and support with parenting,
marital issues, and treatment for a broad range of family issues. In
addition, Meredith has experience leading groups on self-care, body image,
boundaries, and addictions. She also teaches at a Community college
in the St. Louis area and provides personal life coaching services.
Meredith provides individualized therapy at McCallum Place for girls and
women, facilitates groups, and provides couple and family therapy. She helps
clients to explore the emotional, physical, relational, and spiritual components
of their eating disorder in order to facilitate healing on a holistic level.
Her treatment approach combines family systems, cognitive-behavioral,
humanistic, and solution-oriented therapies. |

Stephanie Whitney,
M.A., A.T.R.-BC, L.P.C.
Therapist
Stephanie
Whitney earned her
Master of Arts Degree in Art Therapy Counseling from Southern Illinois
University at Edwardsville (SIUE). She is a Licensed Professional
Counselor and a Registered Art Therapist – Board Certified. Stephanie is
trained in Internal Family Systems (IFS) and Eye Movement Desensitization and
Reprocessing (EMDR). Stephanie has worked extensively with adults and
adolescents with a variety of clinical issues, including eating disorders, body
image, and trauma. Her theoretical approach combines object-relations
theory and expressive therapy. Stephanie is an Adjunct Faculty member in
the Graduate Art Therapy Counseling program at SIUE. Stephanie is a member
of the American Art Therapy Association and serves on the board of the Missouri
Art Therapy Association.
