Eating Disorder Group Therapy
Group therapy
is a form of eating disorder treatment that provides an opportunity
for a deeper understanding of self and others. Restrictive
eating, binging and purging can be a way to communicate
internal
distress. Patients suffering from anorexia, bulimia, or other eating disorders, can all work together to overcome their fears and anxiety.
Psychotherapy Treatment
Psychotherapy works to
translate this cry for help into something that can be
understood and addressed. Treatment includes several
different approaches to therapy, including cognitive,
psycho-dynamic, and behavioral.
Group Fitness Training Therapy Beginning fitness training serves as a milestone for patients who have achieved a healthy weight and can now
begin to incorporate more physical activity into their daily routine. Individual assessments help patients learn to
debunk their body myths and develop a healthy approach to personal fitness.
Group Dance TherapyDance therapy helps
patients reconnect with their feelings and communicate on
another level. Movement encourages individuals to step
outside of their mind and reclaim their
bodies, giving them courage to find beauty and freedom in
their own rhythms.

Group Art therapyArt therapy
allows patients to express themselves creatively,
providing another window into each individual and a
different way to promote understanding and communication.
Meal Therapy
Meal therapy, nutrition, and post-meal groups are led by staff and
dietitian. Staff and patients plan, eat, and review meals
as a group. Patients begin to face and overcome their fear
of eating with supportive feedback and encouragement that
sees them through before, during, and after each meal. |
