Admission Criteria
McCallum Place serves men and women aged 13 to
50 who have an eating disorder such as bulimia nervosa,
anorexia nervosa, binge eating disorder, or compulsive exercise who require intensive treatment, structure and
support in order to recover.
Those who are in need of 24-hour supervision must accept
care voluntarily and they must be capable of accessing
nurses and other eating disorder treatment staff supports so that they remain safe.
McCallum Place accepts patients who require tube-feeding.
Prior to admission, all patients must complete the Intake
Form. In addition a Medical Form completed by your current
physician must be included. Click on one of the icons
below to download this form. If patients are entering the Transition House, they must have a Hepatitis A vaccination.

Individuals should use the following criteria to determine
whether treatment at McCallum Place may be
suitable.

Those not making progress in outpatient
treatment

Those who could benefit from group and or
family treatment to supplement individual work

Patients with anorexia nervosa who
require supported meals to make change

Patients needing a structured environment
to restore weight

Patients who need support to challenge
established food rituals and habits

Patients requiring supplements and do not
have the autonomy to eat enough on their own

Patients motivated to stop binge eating or purging,
who have been unable to make change without
more structured support

Patients who need supervision to prevent
weight loss due to compulsive exercise strategies
-
Those in need of longer term treatment to
stabilize recovery after short term residential or
inpatient hospitalization
